How to Enjoy Your Ooty Tour? Some Tips.

If we talk about hill stations in India, Ooty is perhaps the first name that comes in our mind. It’s located in the Nilgiri Hills (state of Tamil Nadu), and is one of the most-visited tourist spots in south India. This small town is recognized for its panoramic vistas – splendid natural greenery, beautiful lakes, sky-touching hills and alluring shoal trees, and is affectionately dubbed as ‘Scotland of East’. However, ‘Blue Hills’ of the Nilgiris is the most famous tourist attraction in Ooty; visit to them leaves the tourists enthralled. Though Ooty travel will surely be an amazing experience, you can make it more enjoyable keeping some basic but important factors into consideration. Following are some general travel tips, which will hopefully help you enjoy your Ooty package to its fullest.

1.     Plan Your Trip Well in Advance: Be a smart traveler, and plan your trip well ahead. Decide your buying criteria – considering your needs and budget, and get a suitable Ooty package through a reliable tour operator. You must do some homework, even before you search for Ooty packages. Be sure about your basic requirements like members in your group, how long you wish to stay there, and what facilities you want during your trip etc when selecting an Ooty package. It’s to note that Ooty is a year-round destination except monsoon session (July-August). However, summer session (April-June) is the best time to avail an Ooty package.

2.     Take Care of Your health: Though it’s always necessary to take care of your health, you must be extra careful when you’re traveling. Visit to hill station like Ooty can bring your body in touch of things it’s not use to. So, it’s imperative to consult with an expert physician prior to opt for an Ooty package.  Be careful with your diet, and avoid taking the meals that are not hygienic. Additionally, you should keep medicines for some common health problems like stomach, insomnia and tiredness.   Altitude sickness is another major problem faced by travelers in Ooty. So, discuss it with your doctor before you head to Ooty travel.

3.     Pack Light, Pack smart: Packing is one of the most important considerations to make your trip enjoyable. For Ooty travel, your packing depends upon which session you choose to visit on. During winter, it’s highly advised to keep some warm, woolen clothes in your bag. Another things you should take with you include a travel torch, a destination map, mobile charger, and of course a camera. However, it’s important to pack light so as to be relaxed and comfortable during your journey. It’s also recommended to use a travel bag instead of suitcases.

4.     Pace yourself Smooth, and Enjoy the Beauty: You’re on a vacation, so don’t make hurry. Keep a smooth pace, and enjoy the beauty to its best. Don’t plan a hectic schedule, and visit the destinations one by one.  While tracking on hills, keep your pace slow (not so much), stay calm and take rests when you feel tired.

5.     General Safety Tips: You’re visiting a different state/nation, so it makes sense to know the rules and regulation of the place. Don’t do the prohibited activities, and enjoy the trip within rules. If you’re going somewhere alone, don’t forget to inform your peers and tour operator. Keep your luggage under your supervision and check it periodically. When you go for hiking, or other adventurous activity, it’s better to keep you important documents like your passports in hotel room.
You can enjoy the Ooty travel to its fullest keeping above mentioned basic but important points in your mind.
